Creators’ Class with Don “Campbellock” Campbell and Dennis Ddouble Danehy

We are proud to announce that the creator of Locking himself, the living legend, Don “Campbellock” Campbell, and his son Dennis Danehy, will join us for Vaudeville Funk.  The next day, October 30th, Mr. Campbell, and Dennis will teach a Creator’s Class for the community.  This is YOUR once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn how to become creative and innovative with Locking from the man who created it.

Locking is a dance form created by Don “Campbellock” Campbell back in the 1970’s. It is based on “the lock” from which every creative movement flows as a form of improvisational dance expression. The emphasis of Locking is on the creative expression and the freedom of movement of the performer, not on pre-learned dance steps and choreography.

Boston Mobile Dance Studio, together with the BeanTown Lockers; who are Bostons premier locking group, have set out to bring the revolution of Locking and creative movement to New England.

In order to fulfill the whole vision of this event successfully, BMDS and the BeanTown Lockers, have launched an Indiegogo Campaign to raise the required funds. These funds will be used for expenses such as; Travel, Lodging and Financial support for Don Campbell and Dennis Danehy; Vaudeville Funk and Creator’s Class Venues, Rehearsal Space, Performer Stipends, Advertising Costs, Photography/Videography, Performer Costumes.

Through the Indiegogo Funding Campaign and with the help of friends and enthusiasts, $8500 was raised. This is great news for Vaudeville Funk. BMDS is grateful for all of the support given by the creative community backers, friends, enthusiasts and everyone who shares the vision of this revolutionary event.

Find empowerment through dance and movement. Let us assist you by promoting creativity, synergy, and inspiration from within. Dance is a liberating and rejuvenating experience.
