Boston, MA, February 2017 – Many people have a lifetime wish to perform and dance on stage. But, many have never made that step because of fear and self-doubt. Boston Mobile Dance Studio has set out to help folks like these overcome their fears by giving them the opportunity to make their wish come true.
“When we created the BMDS Performance Program, we believed the program would attract a lot of people who have always wanted to experience stage performance. It in fact did. But what we found came as a surprise to us; people felt intimidated by the word “Performance”. Carl Alleyne, BMDS Movement Coach, and Co-president
A group of movement coaches from the Boston Mobile Dance Studio has set up the “BMDS Performance Program” which started mid-January and will run through to April 22nd of this year 2017 when the final showcase and party will take place.
The Movement Coaches for the program are:
Carl Alleyne and his team of movement coaches are well known in the Greater Boston area as inspiring, positive, easy going, fun to be with and top talent dancers. So the more reason to confide in them on the journey to overcoming fears and self-doubt.
“I used to be a very shy and insecure child. I’m an introvert by nature. But it was dance that helped me overcome my fears and insecurities…” Carl Alleyne
The Performance Program consists of 4 different sets of 13 dance classes. Each set with one of the coaches from the team. The class participants will learn a choreography and rehearse it during class together with their dance class group. The culmination of the program is the showcase on April 22nd.
In the Move Creatively! spirit of BMDS, the Movement Coaches will strive to motivate and inspire the Performance Program members. They will encourage them to believe in themselves and to overcome their fears.
We all need encouragement and motivation, especially someone performing for the first time!
Even though the BMDS Performance Program is a great opportunity for non-dancers, it’s also an open opportunity for dancers or former dancers too. The goal is to give everyone interested, the ultimate performing experience; choreography, rehearsals, show.
Now, no one says this is totally easy and effortless. Just like with everything else in life, if you want to achieve something and reach a goal, you have to put in some effort. But the most inspiring point of the performance program is; it is fun, it will help the participants experience pride in their own achievement, and feel confidence and comfort within their mind, body, and soul.
